Prints of Darkness is a fine art collaborative printshop located in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn, since 2006. The shop operates on a contract printshop model where the artist works directly with printer Rob Swainston on editions or unique multiples. The shop is equipped for relief, etching, silkscreen, stone and plate lithography, and digital inkjet printing -- specializing in layering several of these processes together. Our strength is identifying elements within an individual artists practice that synergizes with traditional and contemporary print processes.

Prints of Darkness has been fortunate to work on many projects with some fantastic artists. The shop has ongoing collaborations with Charline von Heyl and Dana Schutz. Other artists include Daniel Bozhkov, Reena Spaulings (John Kelsey, Jutta Koether, Emily Sundblad), LaToya Ruby Fraizer, and Eve Sussman among others. In 2011 the shop produced a benefit print project for Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Artists on this project included Robert Gober, Mark Grotjahn, Dana Schutz, Kiki Smith, and Kara Walker. In 2012 the shop produced a benefit edition with Dana Schutz and publisher Susan Englett for the E/AB print fair and a benefit print for the Chinati Foundation with Charline von Heyl.
